Federal Antidiscrimination Laws and Your Company Size

If your business is very small — with only one to three employees — you do not need to worry about the majority of antidiscrimination laws on the federal level. The major exception to this very general  rule is the federal Equal Pay Act, which applies to nearly all employers, regardless of size. There may be local ordinances or state laws that apply to you (although most apply only to employers with five or more employees).
